Tackle building
Rod building starts with the selection of a blank and hardware. Here you'll find the Rainshadow 4-piece 9-weight that will be made into a travel pike rod. Then you'll need cork rings to build, shape, and fit a grip, as well as thread, a winding check, possibly ferrule rings and a hookkeeper, and then some flex coat, and some tools.
For the next rod, a 2-piece 3-weight on a St Croix blank, I selected a Bellinger real seat, for which I turned the insert myself. I also turned a small winding check from zebrawood to embellish the grip.
